Did you set @ and www to the CNAME record provided by Railway?

If so, and it still doesn't work, I would suggest migrating to Cloudflare DNS.

i did ... at my hostinger account .. nothing postiive yet. Also i tried cloudflare and it cant @ root because its alredy pointing to my real domain and its telling it cant add railway as its root

Can you elaborate what you meant by “pointing to my real domain”?

Can you share what exactly you’re running into?

If you’re hosting on Railway with a custom domain you need to add bothyoursite.com and www.yoursite.com in Railway.

If your DNS provider doesnt support CNAMEs at the root domain (godaddy is a common example), the easiest fix is to move DNS to Cloudflare.
After that, point both @ and www to the Railway-provided domain in Cloudflare DNS. Railway will then detect both hostnames and automatically issue TLS certs.

You can’t have conflicting DNS records. The only two records your @ and www should be pointing to is a CNAME record provided by Railway.

And as mentioned above, I would recommend using Cloudflare’s DNS. Might save you the headache.

my real domain is planmybuy.com bouight at hostinger. I just moved the DNS config from hostinger to cloudflare. However at cloudflare i added my customdomain as planmybuy.com and then went to cloudflare settings to add @ and www into cname. Im able to add cname with www to railway provided url but it doesnt accept @ in cname because it tells that there is alrady a record having A, AAA etc.

You’ll need to remove the A record then.

ok this is what i have now and my railway has this still .. should i remove A record completely from clouidflare ?

I would suggest following -

railway is giving you record for CNAME @ (for planmybuy.com)
Add this CNAME record as it is in cloudfare (currently you have added this cname as www, and not @)
So delete the existing record in cloudfare (CNAME, www, hjwv....)

and then to also support www.planmybuy.com, add another domain in railway, with www....
Railway will give you a cname record with name (www) and a different value,
add it to your cloudfare dns as it is

I would give it a lil while. As noted under the popup, DNS takes about a day or two to fully propagate.

ok, i did add CNAME already at @ with railway provided name into cloudflare but i did not create www in railway yet as i need to be paid member to dd more than one custom domain. Let me add that too by becoming paid member and ad it to cloudflare. Will update shortly.

looks like it worked after few mins of adding www as well. Thanks guys for helping me out today. I got my site live although its still propagating for next few days. Thanks again. Great community.
