Does Railway Provide static IP?, Also does it provide both inbound and outbound and how to get IPV4 static IP?

Hi Railway Team,

I wanted clarification regarding Railway networking and static IP support.

From the documentation, I understand that Railway provides Static Outbound IPv4 addresses on the Pro plan, mainly for outbound allowlisting/firewall use cases. I also noticed that Free plan users only see Private Networking and the Outbound IPv6 toggle, but not the Static IP option.

I would like confirmation on the following points:

  1. Does Railway currently provide only Static Outbound IPv4 addresses and not Static Inbound/Public IPv4 addresses?

  2. Are the provided outbound IPv4 addresses shared among customers or dedicated per service/project?

  3. Does Railway support Static IPv6 addresses in any form (inbound or outbound)?

  4. On the Free plan, is there any way to obtain stable/static outbound IPv4 addresses, or is upgrading to Pro mandatory?

  5. If a service is redeployed or moved across regions, will the assigned outbound IPv4 addresses change?

  6. Is there any roadmap or planned support for dedicated static inbound/public IPv4 or IPv6 addresses?

My use case involves IP allowlisting and understanding whether Railway networking is suitable for services requiring fixed public IP access.

Thanks.

We offer Static Outbound IPv4 addresses only, not static inbound/public IPs (inbound uses anycast IPs that can change). The outbound IPs are not guaranteed to be dedicated and may be shared with other customers. There is no static IPv6 support, only an opt-in outbound IPv6 toggle. Static outbound IPs are a Pro plan feature, so upgrading from Hobby is required. If you move your service to a different region, the assigned outbound IPs will change, but normal redeploys within the same region will not affect them.

You'll want to use the static IP feature, which is available to users on the Pro plan. https://docs.railway.com/reference/static-outbound-ips

On the Pro plan, you can enable static outbound IPs by navigating to the Settings tab of your service, then toggling "Enable Static IPs" in the Networking section. After the next deploy, your service will use the assigned IPv4 addresses for all outbound traffic. Full details are in our Static Outbound IPs docs.

No, the static outbound IPv4 addresses are not dedicated. They may be shared with other customers on the same infrastructure.
