since your code is running php, your apache might be misconfigured. your apache would be serving something like /var/www/html/ but that directory doesnt have any index.php or index.html, so its just returning as 502. what you need to resolve it fix apache to point to the correct folder (i.e something like this)

DocumentRoot /var/www/html/public

<Directory /var/www/html/public>

AllowOverride All

Require all granted

DirectoryIndex index.php index.html

</Directory>
