"Error: URI Too Long" error on service

This issue started happening yesterday, coinciding with the Cloudflare outage. Service still has not been restored as of the closure of the Cloudflare issue.

URI is very long with a lot of query params but under the listed Cloudflare max of 32kb.

Error is not an application level issue:

  • Was working just fine before the Cloudflare outage

  • No HTTP or deployment level logs to see, request is being terminated higher up the chain somewhere

Sure thing. You can reproduce it on any domain that ends up at Railway.

Have just seen the news about the DDOS protection. Is this related? I was blaming Cloudflare.

The URL size on our end is limited to 8KB.

I have gone ahead and created a ticket to track further reports of this request. If we see further reports, we will take a look at what we can do to increase this.
