I do not believe there is a way to do this.

Hey, I am not really sure what you mean with expired, but you will need an active plan to access your services.

If your trial expired, then you will have to upgrade to a plan to redeploy your service, the free plan may be enough for this particular case.

You are welcome to upgrade to a plan to recover your data.

anyway to recover since if this can be clearly communicated before the expiration so i can do a backup beforehand didn't expect it would immediately deleting the data without prior warning

Data is not deleted.

Railway only deletes the data after 30 days on the trial/free plan if cancelled and not renewed. https://docs.railway.com/reference/pricing/plans#how-long-does-railway-keep-my-volume-data-if-i-am-no-longer-on-a-paid-plan

if the data is not deleted then why am i not informed i cannot access it before the plan is expired? also it has not been 30 days so if the data still exist why can't i simply get a copy of it but forced to pay and upgrade just to get the existing data?

You are not forced to pay to access your data, you can simply upgrade to the free plan and export the data as I have mentioned above.
