First time trying Railway - followed the Quickstart instructions for deploying image from personal Dockerhub account.
First attempted hung at "creating containers" for 20 minutes. Forum searching suggested that maybe including the explicit tag in the hub image would work. Aborted deployment and tried again pointing to user/image:latest
Second attempt failed at ~15 minutes with "Failed to create deployment" and very minimal logging. All I could find was "Container failed to start" in Build log.
Would be happy to learn what went wrong or where else to troubleshoot.

Hello,
That image is arm64 and the Railway platform is x86 only.
There should definitely be an error log for this specific case and I will create a ticket to triage this issue, but for now you should be unblocked with the above information.

Thanks for the tip. Might be handy to add a link or more notes to the Quick Start for pre-built images page with a checklist of expectations for the desired image.

Good point, I think ideally the error would tell you exactly what's wrong, like no image found for architecture amd64
May I ask if you knew your image was arm64? if so, did you think Railway would be able to deploy an arm64 only image?

+1 to specific exception logs! I was not aware of that architecture detail. I'm working on a personal/learning project to get more familiar with deploying apps, so currently working my way up the learning curve for both Docker and Railway (and/or similar PaaS providers).

The attached ticket once finished will result in the unsupported architecture error being surfaced to the end user.
Please keep in mind, you still need to build an x86 image.
