Fraudulent charges from railway

Hi, I don’t understand railway hosting. Last month I was debited $6.5 on my account for 3 websites which I’m quite sure no one visited. 1 is tev.li, the others do not have a public url yet as I am still using the url provided by railway. No one else has this url so it shouldn’t have been able to rack up any charge at all.

After making that payment, I put all my apps to sleep and they have been down ever since (tev.li is down, anyone can check) now I see a failed debit of $5.5 on my card, on railway I can see a usage billing of $1.23.

My question is how did I rack up this charge even while all my apps are asleep, and won’t wake unless I do a deployment which I haven’t done.

And if I did indeed rack up this charge, why is railway trying to debit $5.5 from my card? Where is that coming from?

so you seen to have some missconceptions on how billing on railway works.

the hobby plan costs 5$ per month, it's a subscription service.

railway does not charge for how many visitors your site has, they charge for the resources your app uses to run so it doesn't matter if it has a public domain or not.

service will wake if they receive any inbound traffic, not just re-deploying, so you still had something running somewhere.

and with all this said, I'm confident in saying there are no fraudulent charged, you where simply charged for the subscription and what resources you used.

you may also be running a development server.

But I’m pretty sure the service didn’t wake. Believe me, I tried to open it a couple of times, and it just shows “application error”. You can check if yourself (tev.li), I think that’s a bug on it’s own. But the second question is why is it showing $1.23 on my dashboard and they are trying to charge me $5.5? I do not understand that too

I think the site will wake if I do a deployment but without that it just shows an error

your final costs will include the subscription fee

In that case it should have been $6.23 then, no?

no because there is included resource discounts

Is there any way I can see the discounts being applied? Also I thought if you kept usage below $5, there won’t be any charge at all

in your billing tab, it would only be $5 though, and no that's not true
