previously working code when backtracked also gets stuck still. then build eventually fails with error "failed to build an image"

22mins attempting at 'Building Image', redeployed ~3 times so far every couple mins, no dice yet

I had the same issue. Disabling metal for builds solved immediately.

try disabling metal builds for now
