Hi Railway team,
I’m unable to see or connect any GitHub repositories from Railway.
Railway correctly recognizes that my GitHub user account is connected, but it cannot retrieve any repositories. This affects both:
- Public repositories owned by my personal GitHub account.
- Private repositories owned by my GitHub organization.
The repository selector displays the following error:
“We couldn’t refresh your GitHub repositories right now. Please try again later.”
It also continues to display “Install the Railway GitHub App”, even though the app is already installed and has access to all repositories.
Troubleshooting steps already completed:
- I disconnected my GitHub account and all GitHub organizations from Railway.
- I completely uninstalled the Railway GitHub App.
- I reconnected my personal GitHub account first.
- I installed the Railway GitHub App on my personal account and granted access to all repositories.
- I then installed the Railway GitHub App on my private organization and also granted access to all repositories.
- I verified on GitHub that both installations are active and have repository access.
- I repeatedly used the Refresh option in Railway.
- I signed in from another browser to rule out a browser, cookie, or session issue.
The result is always the same: Railway recognizes that the GitHub user is connected, but it cannot find any personal or organization repositories.
Could you please check whether my Railway account is still linked to an old or deleted GitHub App installation ID, or whether the GitHub installation-to-account mapping needs to be refreshed on Railway’s side?
This looks like a stale or cached GitHub App installation binding, since reinstalling the app and granting access to all repositories did not resolve it.
I have attached a screenshot showing the repository refresh error.
Thank you.

Builds for services that deploy from GitHub started failing around 22:40 UTC because GitHub is having an API outage on their side. The build gets scheduled but we can't pull your code from GitHub, so it fails with no build logs. Your running services aren't affected.
We're tracking this at https://status.railway.com/incident/8BVRVAAM and GitHub's own status is at https://www.githubstatus.com/incidents/gxycch3076xk. Once GitHub recovers, pushing a new commit or redeploying will work again with no action needed on your end. If you need to ship right now, the CLI still works because it uploads your code directly: run railway up from your project directory.
