Hi, I'm having trouble connecting a GitHub repo to my Railway service. I previously revoked Railway's access under GitHub's "Authorized OAuth Apps" by mistake. Now when I try "Connect Repo" on my service (bot-clash-twitch), I get redirected to a page that says "Error authenticating with GitHub — Problem completing OAuth login." I've tried:
Chrome incognito mode
Brave browser (with Shields disabled)
Both WiFi and mobile data
The error is the same every time. I'm only using a mobile phone, no desktop access. Can you help me figure out why the OAuth flow keeps failing?

Hello,
Can you make sure you have given the Railway App bot access to your repositories?
GitHub Settings -> Applications -> Railway App -> Configure -> Repository access
Then please go into your Railway account and unlink and relink the GitHub integration.
Best,
The Railway Team

Since unlinking and relinking did not clear the error, the next step is to fully uninstall the Railway GitHub App from your GitHub account (GitHub Settings -> Applications -> Railway App -> the gear icon or "Configure" -> Uninstall), then go to your Railway account page and reconnect GitHub from there, which will prompt a fresh install of the app.

Your running services will not be affected by uninstalling the Railway GitHub App. Already-deployed services continue running independently of the GitHub connection. The only thing that temporarily pauses is automatic deployments from new GitHub commits, and that resumes as soon as you reinstall the app and reconnect.

Update with more specific technical info: The OAuth flow is failing server-side, not client-side. After clicking "Install & Authorize" on GitHub's app installation page, I get redirected to:
railway.com/auth/error?provider=github
with the message "Problem completing OAuth login."
I've fully ruled out client-side causes:
Tested in Chrome incognito and Brave (with Shields fully disabled)
Tested on both WiFi and mobile data
Fully uninstalled the Railway GitHub App from github.com/settings/installations and reinstalled it from scratch — same error every time
GitHub-side authorization looks clean (no partial/broken entries under Authorized OAuth Apps)

The GitHub OAuth authorization completes successfully, but Railway fails immediately when processing the callback and redirects to /auth/error?provider=github with “Problem completing OAuth login”. Browser, network, and GitHub App reinstallation have already been ruled out. The repository is private but accessible, has zero webhooks, and the issue affects repository connection only; production services remain healthy. Please investigate the server-side OAuth callback, GitHub installation/account mapping, and any duplicate Railway connection records. This cannot be diagnosed from the repository because the failure occurs before deployment configuration is read.

Hi team,
Following up again — it's now been 4 days with no resolution on this OAuth issue. I want to be clear about the impact: I'm on a paid plan, and this bug is currently preventing me from deploying updates to my live services (a bot and a website that are in active use). Every day this stays unresolved is real downtime/stagnation on production services I'm paying for.
To recap the issue:
- Connecting a GitHub repo to my Railway service fails with a persistent OAuth error
- After "Install & Authorize" on GitHub, I'm redirected to railway.com/auth/error?provider=github with "Problem completing OAuth login."
- Ruled out client-side causes: tested in Chrome incognito and Brave (Shields off), tested on WiFi and mobile data, fully uninstalled and reinstalled the Railway GitHub App from github.com/settings/installations — same error every time
- GitHub-side authorization looks clean, no partial/broken entries under Authorized OAuth Apps
- This points to a server-side issue processing the GitHub OAuth callback for my account
Account: matochitof-coder
Could someone please prioritize checking my account's OAuth callback logs? I need this resolved as soon as possible to keep my services updated. Happy to provide any additional info needed.
Thanks
