GitHub auto-deploy shows "Auto deploy unavailable" despite correct

configuration on both sides.

Project: gift-receipt-app, environment production, service "app".

Repo: jmizrachi1-sys/gift-receipt-app (private).

Workspace: jmizrachi1-sys, Hobby plan.

Tooltip reads: "No project member has access to this GitHub

repository. Check if the GitHub Railway App is installed and project

members have their GitHub accounts connected."

What I have verified:

  • Railway account settings show GitHub connected as jmizrachi1-sys,

GitHub login enabled, Railway App installed. All three green.

  • On GitHub, the Railway App is installed with read and write access

to code, and jmizrachi1-sys/gift-receipt-app is explicitly granted

    under "Only select repositories".

  • The repo owner and the Railway account are the same user, so this

is not a cross-account or organization permission issue.

Tried without success: hard reload; disconnecting and reconnecting

the repo inside the service.

The same integration also failed to sync in July, which is why I

have been deploying manually with the CLI since. Manual deploys work

fine, so this is not urgent, but I would like automatic deploys to

work eventually.

Your service currently has no GitHub repository connected (the source is empty), which explains the "auto deploy unavailable" state. Two steps from the troubleshooting docs you haven't tried yet: on the project canvas, click Add then GitHub Repository then Refresh to force a cache refresh of your GitHub permissions, then reconnect the repo to the service. If that still shows the same tooltip, fully uninstall the Railway GitHub App from your GitHub installations page, reinstall it granting access to the repo, wait a couple of minutes for caches to clear, and reconnect. Reply here once you've tried these so we can check the state again.
