High latency after migrating to Railway

I recently migrated one of my client projects from AWS (ECS + RDS MySQL) and Vercel (NextJS frontend) to Railway. I deployed everything (NestJS backend, MySQL database, Next.js frontend) under the same metal region (Southeast Asia - Singapore) and deployment on Railway went quite smoothly.

However, I'm experiencing increased latency when making requests to the backend and not sure what could caused this. Latency is now around ~500ms, when originally it was just ~100ms when deployed to AWS + Vercel.

I'm not sure how else am I suppose to troubleshoot this, everything has already been deployed on the same metal region which I thought could reduce latency. Do you have any further guidance or ideas how to tackle this?

Hello,

Would you happen to have any kind of tracing for the calls made to MySQL?

Best,
Brody

Hi Brody,

I don't have any tracing for db calls at the moment. I saw another user's thread that he is also experiencing increased latency for Postgres, is this issue related?

I'm going to assume it is, but it's really hard to know without any traces or clear data.

I'll add this thread to the ticket anyway.
