Hello. I am interested in the technical peculiarity of debiting on the Hobby tariff. I am currently using Free Trial. And for 24 hours on my n8n server spent 0.20 USD with 512 MB RAM / 2 vCPU.
How can I understand the cost of using a server with 4 times more features? 8 GB RAM / 8 vCPU
Is the per minute price for RAM and vCPU different on Hobby plan - compared to Free Trial?
How can I figure out if my n8n server will remain at its current RAM and vCPU consumption values, or is it physically now limited by the upper limit on Free Trial?
In other words, how can I calculate an approximate monthly budget for my server without having this data? It's very inconvenient when it's not 5$ fixed price for a month, but it's like a deposit and I have to worry about constantly monitoring that there are no increased loads or other things because of unnecessary spending.
Lots of questions, but this is really important to me. Since the project is really a hobby and I'm just learning. Would like to stay within the monthly budget of $5, but was unpleasantly surprised to find out that this is not a fixed price for the Hobby plan.

Hey, the price per vCPU, RAM, disk and egress are the same for the trial, hobby and pro plan. The hobby plan offers upto 8 vCPU and 8 GB of RAM per service. Just like how it was on the trial plan, you only pay for what you use. In addition to that, you can also change the max. vCPU and RAM limit for each service from anywhere between 0.5 vCPU to 8 vCPU max. (the same applies to RAM). The service will crash if it exceeds the defined max resource limit.
You can control your spendings by setting a hard limit, keep in mind that the lowest hard limit is $10, more on that can be found here https://docs.railway.com/reference/usage-limits#hard-limit.

Manual control, redistribution of characteristics, and a hard limit really solves the problem with the experience. Thanks for the clarification.
Could you please tell me, if I sign up for the Hobby tariff, can I credit the minimum 5 USD to my account? Is the subscription for a month or a longer term with automatic monthly debit? Will I be able to unsubscribe early (for example, after the first month or 2-3 months) if something does not suit me?

The hobby plan costs $5 per month and also includes $5 worth of usage for that particular month. You can cancel the hobby plan anytime you want, in this case your hobby plan will be valid until the end of the billing cycle or in other words, until the end of the monthly period.

Still, I don't understand how the Hobby Plan works for $5 USD. Please explain. Earlier I was told that the price for using the server is the same as in the trial account (for the same 5 USD). I tested and it was enough for me - 1 GB and 1 CPU - just for a month.
Now when I paid a subscription to Hobby Plan with 8 GB of RAM, 8 vCPU, for the same server on n8n I got charged more and it says Estimated Bill $9,29 with minimum server resource consumption. I thought it was because of the maximum limit in Hobby Plan (8 GB of RAM, 8 vCPU). Since my server on the n8n doesn't consume that much power, I manually set the process limit to 1 GB and 1 CPU. That is, made the conditions similar on the test server. Was sure that the price and Estimated Bill would go down, but it didn't happen.
If you go to Billing Stripe, it shows a different amount. Why is there a line Hobby plan $5.00 separately, and the consumption of server resources separately and all this is summarized? $5 for Hobby Plan subscription, but I have to pay for server resources separately? It's very confusing and it doesn't make any sense. It would be much clearer and simpler if you specify 8 GB of RAM, 8 vCPU on the server and charge exactly the specified subscription amount for such resources.
How can I make it so that I get $5 per month and not almost 10 instead of the promised $5?

You only pay for your usage, if you use $10 worth of resources, then you will get billed $10. The hobby plan costs $5 and also includes $5 worth of usage, meaning that you will get billed a minimum of $5 each month. The max resource limit is not the limit that is charged, it's simply just the max amount of resources your service can have and scale to when needed.

Uxuz, in this case how could I understand "using $10 worth of resources" or $5, for instance. Where can I regulate cost and choice needed resources (for $5 cost)?
And one more question: does the $5 Hobby plan include the resources used per month for that amount or does the price for resources go in addition to the $5 cost for the Hobby plan?

The hobby plan includes $5 worth of usage, meaning that you only pay $5 if your usage is <= $5. While there are measuresment to reduce usage, the hard limit you can set is $10 minimum.
