I was on the 5$ free trial before upgrading to hobby plan, is it like the free trial where I'm consuming credits based on usage from the 5$ or is the 5$ for the hobby plan an initial amount just to deploy and any usage is charged as extra fees?

I also don't understand the difference between current usage and estimated usage.

The hobby plan costs $5 and includes $5 worth of usage, meaning that your apps will consume the included $5 usage first. The current usage is how much usage in $ you have used so far and the estimated usage is how much Railway estimates your applications will consume in total until the end of the billing cycle (one month). Keep in mind that the estimated usage is just an estimate and not what you will be actually paying at the end of the billing cycle.
