How can I become project owner (of my own project)

I am drawing the conclusion that I am not the owner of my own project. For example, I can't see or edit environment variables and my Project Members tab says "You are not authorized to view the contents of this section".

How can I become project owner of my own project? I can't ask someone else for access because there has never been anyone else.
