According to the latest timeline, I should be able to port my db with volume to metal. But don't think this option is yet available. It says this but I'm not sure if that means I'll loose my data as I don't have a backup if I migrate my db to the region with metal.
what's a manual way of doing this?Replication is not available for services that have a cron schedule or a volume attached.

It is possible, you just need to have "Metal Volumes" enabled -
