Hi railway team,
please i subscribed to the Hobby plan on 2nd February, but now i’m seeing on my railway dashboard that i have to subscribe to the hubby plan again. Seems like my subscription was not activated by Railway.
Please i need this to be resolved as soon as possible. I have attached a link to my invoice here https://invoice.stripe.com/i/acct1HNrvlCJoPsRzQsd/liveYWNjdF8xSE5ydmxDSm9Qc1J6UXNkLF9QVUxsQWRNYmNnVHQzaXNlMkpmc1U0Y0hIYUk2Q2RvLDEwMzA5Njc4OQ0200Hhizaho2?s=ap

Thanks

The hobby plan is a monthly subscription of $5.

but when i paid for the hubby plan, i was still on the free trial of $5 credit. Moreover, i subscribed to the pay-as-you go version of the Hubby plan. i.e the "Start a new usage-based subscription". overall, my spendings on my dashboard is about $8. So i really don't understand

also, my account still says i'm on the trial version, but i already subscribed to the hubby plan. why is that so?

The Hobby plan costs $5 a month regardless of how you choose to pay, and the trial credits are not carried over.

so you mean after subscribing to the hubby version, my trial version ceases to function? Is that what you mean? That's not cool if that's the case. The trial credits are meant to be exhausted first before the hubby plan fully starts deducting.

I'm sorry but that's not at all how trials work, you chose to end your trial by upgrading to Hobby before using all your trial credits.

The Hobby plan costs $5 a month regardless of how you choose to pay, and the trial credits are not carried over.

Then the usage-based payment is way confusing then, and you guys need to fix that. I chose that option so i could pay for the resources i'm using only, since I and my team are still developing our product and not yet in production.
Also, while these things where happening, i never for once got any email from Railway regarding the credits expiration, and that's very bad. All my services were just stopped without prior notice.
Imagine we've gone to production, this is what we would be facing 🤦‍♂️

The pricing page does clearly state that the Hobby plan costs $5 a month, how you choose to pay that would never remove the subscription fee.

As you chose the pre-paid option you would solely be responsible for keeping your credits topped up, though Railway would have absolutely notified you that your services were about to be shut down, there is also a 3-day grace period. Perhaps you would be interested in an automatic payment method instead.

Honestly, the descriptions on your pricing page is really confusing and does not do what it says. How can you be charging $5 every month even when the deployed service is not using any resources. Also, as the time i subscribed to the hubby plan, your pricing description was never clear, stating that i would continually be charged $5 every month. please you guys need to fix the pricing page to let users know they'll keep paying for $5 every month even when their service is not using any resource. It was never clear right from the onset.
Please fix your pricing page, the usage based stuff you guys placed there is really confusing and i see it as a trap. why would you say you're only charging for resources being used, and go on to charge $5 monthly even when the resource usage does not amount to that $5? That's really absurd.
We're in development and not even using up to $2 or $3 since February.

plus i was never notified via email of my hubby plan subscription expiring. Also, why am i seeing that i'm on the trial plan, instead of the hubby plan?

you guys need to respond and take billing issues seriously, and stop using a BOT to respond to serious issues please!

The pricing page clearly shows that the Hobby plan costs $5 per month and that resources are extra. The /mo text is very common short form for "per month".

I'm sorry you were confused but the information provided on that page is correct and clear. Railway runs on a subscription model.

I am not a bot, and I don't work for Railway either.

So why would someone that doesn't work for Railway attend to issues as serious as billing!!!
Damn! This is crazy! Why the hell will Railway be doing such thing.
A rep from Railway is meant to look at my account to find out what's going on. I'm basically saying that my hubby plan was never fully activated in the first place 🤦‍♂️

This is community support, and I am a community member, specifically a moderator. Users would only get support from the team if they were on the Pro plan or there was a billing issue. I'm not seeing any issues here so that is why I haven't gotten anyone from the team involved.

You upgraded to the hobby plan a few months back and your credits have since run out because of the monthly subscription costs, which automatically demoted you to trial, this is working as designed. Again I'm sorry you are confused but Railway operates on a subscription model as shown by the pricing page.
