I can't see the Metal Region.

I see the Metal Region in my applications, but I can’t see the Metal Region in the database. Should I still switch to the Metal Region? Will I experience latency since it will remain in a place where the database doesn’t have the Metal Region?

At the time of this writing, metal volume migrations have been disabled. However, expect them to be enabled again this week! You will experience increased latency if your database is not on metal, while your applications are, more on that can be found here: https://docs.railway.com/railway-metal#help-after-migrating-why-do-i-have-increased-latency.

Dear vacbid,

As uxuz mentioned, metal volume migrations are currently disabled, but we plan to resume deploying to metal soon. In the meantime, you may experience increased latency if your database is not on metal while your applications are.

If you have any further questions or need assistance with this transition, please feel free to reach out. We're here to help.

I'm experiencing increased latency in my applications, not in the database at the metal level. I've upgraded my database to V2, and RAM usage has doubled. Also, metal transitions were supposed to be available a week ago, but they haven't opened yet. I can't see a metal option for the database, but I can see it for my applications. I'd appreciate it if you could clarify these issues for me.

You can enable metal migrations via feature flag now: https://railway.com/account/feature-flags
