I've tried sending him an invite link for both member and admin. When he follows the link, he ends up logged in with a trial account.

well his personal account would be a trial, same as yours, so that alone isn't out of the ordinary

That's what I assumed. We handle onboarding for customers on our platform, and I know it's frustrating for developers when the customers can't figure out how to help themselves; but I unfortunately cannot figure out what we're doing wrong.
