I'm using Ionos but they don't accept Cnames

I need a workaround and yes I tried the built in agent. I migrated my site from Git so that Railway could host it verses Replit who's super expensive now. I'm not a programmer just know some basics. My domain is with Ionos troosecinspections.com and Railway is asking me to add a Cname record but Ionos only does redirects. Although I've done the redirect my domain still says it can't be found and the Cname has a yallow hazard icon instead of a green check like the TXT record does. I need assistance. I'd like to migrate my other 3 sites as well but I have to be sure its worth it. Your agent created another redirect URL as you can see in the screenshot. I also attache what Ionos has created as the redirect. Help...

I suggest migrating your domain DNS to Cloudflare, Free plan is enough and it takes 5 mins at max (and tbh, cloudflare is way easier to manage than Ionos).

Sign up to Cloudflare, Add your website and type in your domain, then go to Ionos, find your domain settings and replace the nameservers with Cloudflare ones. After that re-add the domain on your Railway service, copy the CNAME and TXT record into Cloudflare.

Try to connect to the Ionos developer API so you can connect your AI agent to ionos and have it work directly with their service - that worked for me when i had to do the same thing. Other option is sending screenshots of your ionos records to your AI and asking it what to add.

I don't think lonos support CNAME flattening. Instead of migrating to cloudflare, using a www subdomain is a better option

  1. Delete troosecinspections.com and add www.troosecinspections.com as your custom domain in railway dashboard.

  2. In your lonos DNS settings, delete those A and AAAA records showing "Rediredt"

  3. Add CNAME provide for your newly added domain, provided by railway.

  4. Finally setup a redirect in lonos dashboard for troosecinspections.com to

www.troosecinspections.com

Thank you for that, it actually made sense in my head first but that works. The redirect isn't working though so one has to use www in order to get to my site. I'm going to try something else for that but I appreciate the assistance.

From Ionos DNS records, delete the existing A and AAAA records for the @ (and www) hostnames that currently point to 74.208.236.165 and 2607:f1c0:100f:f000:0:0:0:200.

Create new A record for the hostname @ and paste the IPv4 address Railway provided. Then, create a new AAAA record for @ and paste the IPv6 address Railway provided.
