Custom domain app.api.rectext.com registered to service rectext-backend-java in project endearing-courtesy returning 502 Bad Gateway after the recent GCP incident. The Railway URL rectext-backend-java-production-9c75.up.railway.app works perfectly. DNS CNAME is verified and propagated worldwide via dnschecker.org. Cannot remove or re-add the domain — UI says "domain already in use." Need the domain routing entry reset. Project ID: 36cdb5fb-e31a-4241-9b4b-5f47b6908006 Service ID: b0dc5daa-638d-427a-9d17-524e3ac3e81f

Try redeploying the service.

Additionally, the CNAME record should be what Railway provided when adding the domain. It should not be the same as the pregenerated URL.

I restart and redeploy several time before coming here seeking for help

note that it was working previously pretty well until latest INC

yes, I match the public endpoint provided by Railway with the CNAME no luck to get it work back

I confirm DNS CNAME is verified and propagated worldwide via dnschecker.org. and NOT WORKING

not able to modify/remove or re-add the domain

I need help on that

I'll check with the team on this but keep in mind your CNAME is currently mapped to rectext-backend-java-production-9c75.up.railway.app, when it shouldn't.

Please check with team if at least they can help me re-set this app.api.rectext.com so I can get the perfect match as you said to CNAME

currently it is not show at the network section and when I try to add same "app.api.rectext.com" it says it is already in use

or track back the correct mapped as it was working well before the issue

Is there an error shown when you try to remove the domain from your service?

Add Custom Domain

Domain

app.api.rectext.com

Hi team same problem happen again

What happen this time?

Custom domain app.api.rectext.com doesn't appear under your service's Networking tab

Attempting to re-add it fails with "Domain is in use by service rectext-backend-java in project endearing-courtesy (production)" which is my own current service

Can you please help release/clear the stale domain mapping so I can re-add it cleanly

Or do the same thing that you help fixed from your last outage

The domain app.api.rectext.com is attached to your service rectext-backend-java in your "endearing-courtesy" project, not your "Java the Brain" project. That's why it doesn't appear in the Networking tab when you're looking at "Java the Brain," and why re-adding it says "already in use."

To fix this, go to the "endearing-courtesy" project, open the rectext-backend-java service there, and you'll find the domain in its Networking settings. From there you can either keep it on that project (and fix the failing deployment, which is currently failing healthchecks) or remove it and re-add it to "Java the Brain."

Also, your DNS CNAME currently points to rectext-backend-java-production-9c75.up.railway.app, but it needs to point to 5hot4ttd.up.railway.app - that's the routing target Railway assigned for the custom domain.
