We are observing inconsistent Google PageSpeed performance scores for our application when tested at different times of the day.

Observed behavior:

  • Mobile view

    • Morning: PageSpeed score ranges between 65–68

    • After some time (later in the day): Score improves to 88–90

  • Desktop view

    • Score remains consistently 90+

This fluctuation happens without any code changes or deployments between tests.

Issue Details

  • PageSpeed results vary significantly on mobile depending on the time of testing.

  • Desktop performance remains stable, while mobile performance fluctuates.

  • The issue is reproducible using Google PageSpeed Insights.

  • The application is hosted on Railway, and server configuration has not changed during these tests.

Can you help me for this what is issue?

I wouldn't worry about Google PageSpeed tests made at different times, PageSpeed gives you also an average value taken in a longer period, that's for sure more reliable then your tests.

Do you see differences in performance during the day? In the service metrics page you can see the response time, does it change across the day?
