install a git package or a pip package

I want to install django-mptt in my project. But, my project is encoutering dificulties in this matter. How can i proceed.
I tried to install using git clone, but with no sucess.
git clone git://github.com/django-mptt/django-mptt.git django-mptt

Please provide more details, what have you tried, what isn't working, how have you tried to install it, etc.

yes, i'v tried to install it by command on custom build command.
