Hi Railway Community,
I have an active Hobby subscription and am trying to onboard a developer to an existing project.
The developer has been invited with Can Edit permissions, but when attempting to register through the invitation, they receive the error:
"Sign ups are currently disabled. Please try again later."
I have already resent the invitation, but the issue persists.
Has anyone encountered this recently, and is there a workaround for invited collaborators on existing paid workspaces?
Specifically, is this a temporary registration restriction, or does onboarding an additional developer require a different plan?
Any guidance on resolving this without changing project ownership would be appreciated.
Thanks!

That message is the sign-up pause, not a plan limit or a problem with the invite. New account sign-ups have been paused since the October 22 incident response, and accepting an invite needs a Railway account, so a developer who doesn't have one yet hits "Sign ups are currently disabled" when they register through the link. Resending the invite won't change that, and nothing is wrong with your Hobby workspace or the invite itself.
Two things do work today. If your developer already has a Railway account under any login (GitHub, Google or email), they can sign in with it first and then open the same invite link while signed in. If they don't have an account, the invite will work as soon as sign-ups reopen. The pause is noted on https://status.railway.com under the station.railway.com notice, and that notice is updated when they're back. The update on our preliminary report says we plan to reopen signups this week: https://blog.railway.com/p/preliminary-report-october-security-incident#continuous-updates
No need to change plan or project ownership for this.

Signups have reopened, so your developer can retry creating their account. The reopening currently requires a paid account to use Railway. Sorry this held up your collaboration.
