Is there a way to get an IP address for an "A" DNS record?

My domain provider requires an A record and a TXT record, but you only offer CNAME and TXT. Please try to explain this in an easy way 🙂

We don't provide a static IP for A records. Custom domains on Railway use a CNAME record, which works great for subdomains (like www.example.com or app.example.com).

For root/apex domains (like example.com), your DNS provider needs to support CNAME flattening or ALIAS records: these let you use a CNAME at the root level. Many providers support this, but not all.

If yours doesn't, the easiest workaround is to point your domain's nameservers to Cloudflare (free tier works), which handles CNAME flattening automatically.
