Hi Railway team and community,
Today the account I use for work was banned. The workspace restriction reads “Account banned – ToS Violation”, with no further details. When I try to log in to review the restriction, access is denied, so I’m posting here because I have no other way to appeal.
Some context, to help with the review:
This was my work account. It hosted a small production backend: a REST API with a PostgreSQL database that handles user accounts, subscription payments through regular payment providers, and content for my own websites and desktop app. There was also a small Telegram bot that moderates my own community group.
To my knowledge, nothing in that workspace breaks the Terms of Service: no crypto mining, no proxies or VPNs, no scraping, no spam, and no illegal or infringing content. Everything ran normally until the ban.
I got no warning or prior notice that would have let me fix whatever triggered this.
I have three requests, if possible:
The specific reason for the restriction. If something in my projects broke your terms, tell me what it is and I will fix or remove it.
A manual review by someone on the team, in case this was an automated flag.
An export of my PostgreSQL database, whatever the outcome. It holds my customers’ payment and subscription records, and losing it directly affects people who paid for a service. I’m also asking that the data not be deleted while this is under review.
I’m glad to verify my identity and give any details the team needs privately (by email or DM). I won’t post account details publicly.
Thank you for your time. I’d really appreciate any help.

We don't share the specific reason behind a restriction, and a support thread can't lift it or open a review. Appeals are filed in the product: signing in to the banned account takes you to railway.com/banned, where you can submit an appeal. Include the context you shared here in that form, since the appeal is decided on what's written there.
We can't provide a database export, a dump, or temporary or read-only access to data in a restricted workspace.

My account/workspace has been restricted, but when I try to log in to submit an appeal at railway.com/banned, the login system prevents me from signing in entirely due to the suspension status.
Since I cannot get past the login wall, how am I supposed to access the /banned page to submit the required appeal form?
Could you please provide an alternative method to submit my appeal, or manually unlock the login session so I can access the form?

A ban doesn't stop the account from signing in. Once you're signed in, the dashboard sends a banned account straight to the appeal page, and that's the only place an appeal can be filed. We can't take an appeal through this thread, and there's no separate login unlock for us to apply.
If sign-in itself fails, please share a screenshot or a short screen recording of the exact screen or error you see when you try.

Here is the screen recording showing that the login fails completely instead of redirecting to the appeal page.
Since the automated system is blocking my sign-in, I cannot access the form. Please escalate this case to a human support agent so my appeal can be manually reviewed or handled outside the dashboard.

We do not block signing in on banned accounts, what you show in your video would be an issue on your end.

To clarify the login issue: when I try to sign in with the banned account, the URL redirects to:
https://railway.com/account?error=GOOGLE_CONNECTION_FAILED
I tested this in another browser and the problem persists. However, my personal Railway account logs in just fine, which proves the issue is specifically tied to the account status/ban handling on your end.
Additionally, could you please tell me the reason for the ban? I only had my web service backend and a Telegram community bot hosted there. Right now, hundreds of users have their service completely down, and I am desperate to know what triggered this or what I can do.
Please help me figure out what happened and how I can submit my appeal since the Google connection fails explicitly on this account.
Thank you.

You will need to submit an appeal through the in product forum, we will not be discussing ban appeals here.

Since I cannot get past the login block on the banned account, I have a couple of urgent questions:
If I use my personal Railway account to redeploy my services (the web backend and Telegram bot), would I face any risk or issue? I want to make sure I am compliant and won't trigger another restriction by moving my infrastructure there.
Is there any direct email address or alternative security contact where I can request a database backup or export? As I mentioned, my data is extremely important, and I trusted Railway's built-in backup system to keep it secure. Losing all that data without a way to export it is devastating for my community.
Could you please give me guidance on this? Thank you.

We can't recommend moving those services onto your personal account. Redeploying workloads from a banned account onto another account is treated as getting around the ban, and it can lead to that account being restricted as well. The appeal from the banned account is the route for this.
There is no separate email or security contact for data requests. We can't provide a database export, dump, or temporary access to data from a restricted workspace, whichever channel the request comes through.
