To connect GitHub to your existing account, make sure you are logged into your current account first, then go to Account Settings and link your GitHub account from there. If you use the "Login with GitHub" option on the login page while not already signed in, it will create a new account instead of linking to your existing one. If a duplicate account was created, you can delete it from its account settings page, then link GitHub from your Hobby account.
