Hello Railway Support,
My Railway workspace has been restricted and my service is now offline.
Service: SpiderPanel
Environment: production
Region: US West
My dashboard says:
“Workspace restricted — This workspace was restricted because a payment method is required.”
However, my workspace is still showing as a Limited Trial Workspace with $5 in Trial credits. My current usage is only $0.22, with $0.00 credits used, and I have no billing history or payment method on file.
My SpiderPanel service is currently offline, and Railway blocks the deployment before it even starts building:
“This deployment was blocked before it could build or deploy because the Railway workspace has been restricted.”
I also found another Railway support case where Railway stated:
“There is no action on your side, such as upgrading or adding a payment method, that will lift this restriction.”
Therefore, I would like to request a manual review of my workspace and account rather than adding a payment method or upgrading my plan.
This is a personal project, and I have not intentionally violated Railway’s Terms of Service. If there is any issue with my account or workspace that needs to be resolved, please let me know what I need to do.
I would really appreciate it if you could review the restriction and restore access to my workspace and my SpiderPanel service if possible.
Thank you for your help.

Your workspace is on a limited trial, and the restriction in place clears when you upgrade to a paid plan (Hobby or Pro) at railway.com/workspace/plans. Adding a payment method alone will not lift it. Your existing trial credit will carry over to the new plan.

Thank you for clarifying.
Before I upgrade, I would like to confirm a few details:
- Is upgrading to the Hobby plan the only way to restore my workspace and bring my existing SpiderPanel service back online?
- Will I be charged immediately when I upgrade to Hobby?
- My workspace currently has approximately $5 in remaining Trial credits, while my usage is only $0.22. Will the remaining Trial credits be fully carried over and applied toward my Hobby usage or subscription?
- What is the minimum amount I would actually need to pay to restore the workspace?
- After upgrading, will my existing project, service, environment variables, deployment configuration, and persistent data/volume remain intact?
I want to make sure I understand the exact cost and what will happen to my existing data before upgrading.
Thank you.

Upgrading to the Hobby plan at railway.com/workspace/plans will lift the restriction and bring your service back online. The Hobby plan is $5/month and includes $5 of resource usage per cycle, so at your current usage level the subscription fee covers everything. Your trial credit carries over when you upgrade during an active trial and applies to future invoices. All your existing project data, service configuration, and environment variables are preserved through the upgrade.
