Hello,

We are having an issue with our Railway MySQL database.

Project: lively-vitality

Region: EU West

Database service: MySQL

Public endpoint: shortline.proxy.rlwy.net

Current situation:

• Service appears Online / Active

• Deployment shows successful

• Railway Database UI cannot connect

• Error shown:

“We are unable to connect to the database via SSH”

“Your application is not running or in an unexpected state”

• MySQL Workbench cannot connect

Error:

“Lost connection to MySQL server at reading initial communication packet”

• Application login is failing because the database connection cannot be established

• No recent changes were made. Last database modifications were around 1–2 weeks ago

• We noticed the recent Railway incident regarding build delays and limited access.

Could you please confirm whether this issue is related to the incident or if there is a problem with our MySQL instance?

Thank you.

Your MySQL service's deployment shows as successful, but we can see it's producing no MySQL process logs at all, only a volume mount entry. This is consistent with a known platform-side issue where networking changes can leave database services unreachable even though they appear healthy. Your data is safe on the attached volume. To resolve this, please redeploy your MySQL service from the service's settings page (three-dot menu on the service card, then "Redeploy"). This will restart the MySQL process and re-establish its network connectivity without affecting your data.
