Hello,

My website currently has a 5 GB volume size limit. I would like to upgrade it to 10–20 GB to support my work.

However, your available upgrade plan is 1 TB, which is far more than I need at the moment.

Do you have any options under $20? I just paid $5, but then discovered the storage limitation and now need to pay another $20. That would mean the $5 I already paid is essentially wasted.

Volume size is set by the plan, and we don't offer limit increases or in-between storage options on Hobby, so there is nothing between the Hobby 5 GB cap and Pro. Pro ($20/month) has higher volume limits.

If you do upgrade, your $5 Hobby payment isn't wasted. The upgrade is pro-rated automatically, so the unused part of this cycle's Hobby fee is credited toward the Pro charge.

Does this mean that the 5 GB storage cannot be upgraded separately? Do I have to upgrade to the Pro plan at $20/month instead?

That's correct. Volume storage can't be bought separately. The volume size limit comes with your plan: Hobby volumes max out at 5 GB, and Pro volumes start at 50 GB and can be raised by you up to 1 TB. To get 10-20 GB, you would need Pro at $20/month.

On Pro you pay only for the data you actually store, not for the maximum size. A 20 GB volume costs the same as a 1 TB volume holding the same data. See our volume docs for details.
