Hello Railway Support team,
I am experiencing an SSL certificate name mismatch issue with my custom domain, yourwaycorp.com.
The domain recently expired and was just renewed. The DNS records are already updated and correctly pointing to my Railway service.
I already tried removing and re-adding the custom domain in the panel, but the SSL provisioning seems to be completely stuck.
When accessing
https://yourwaycorp.com, the browser throws a "Not Secure" warning because it is receiving your default wildcard certificate (*.up.railway.app) instead of a dedicated Let's Encrypt certificate for my domain.Could you please force a re-issue or manually trigger the SSL certificate generation for my custom domain on your end?
Here are my details:
Project ID: 462fa223-079c-4fbf-bc40-65077ae831a5
Project: swank-trail
Environment: production
Domain: yourwaycorp.com
I have attached a screenshot of the certificate viewer showing the mismatch.
Thank you,

Your DNS is correctly configured and the domain is verified on our end, but the certificate is currently stuck in the issuing state. Since you mentioned removing and re-adding the domain, be aware that Let's Encrypt enforces rate limits of 5 duplicate certificates per domain per week - repeated removal/re-addition can trigger this limit and block issuance for up to 7 days. Please avoid removing and re-adding the domain again while we look into the stuck certificate on our side.

Hello,
Thank you for the update and the clear explanation.
I understand about the Let's Encrypt rate limits. I will leave the configuration exactly as it is and won't touch the custom domain settings while you look into the stuck certificate.
I appreciate your help fixing this on your end. I'll wait for your confirmation once it's resolved.
Best regards,

I ran nslookup and I couldn't find a TXT record attached to _railway-verify.yourwaycorp.com. Make sure you've added one in your DNS provider.

Hello,
I think there is a misunderstanding. I actually purchased/renewed the domain yourwaycorp.comdirectly through Railway, so I don't have an external DNS provider (like Donweb or GoDaddy) for this domain anymore. Railway is currently my DNS provider.
Since the domain is managed by Railway natively, shouldn't this TXT record (_railway-verify) be added automatically by your system?
Could you please check how I can add this TXT record within the Railway dashboard, or could you add it for me on your end since Railway holds the domain?
Thank you!

Go to https://railway.com/workspace/domains, select the domain, and add the TXT record from there.

Hello again,
I am in the workspace/domains panel right now, ready to add the TXT record with the name _railway-verify.
However, I do not know what the specific verification string/code is that I need to paste into the "Content / Value" field. The Railway AI couldn't provide it to me either.
Could you please reply with the exact text/value I need to put in the Content field so I can finish this?

Go to your service configuration panel, and scroll down to the networking section. You’ll find a place to show DNS records.

Hello,
I went to the Service Configuration -> Networking section as you instructed. However, there is no "Show DNS records" button for yourwaycorp.com.
Under my custom domain, it only shows the Port 3000, "View Documentation", and it says "Issuing TLS certificate". Because the UI is completely stuck in this issuing state, it is not displaying the DNS records or the _railway-verify value I need.
Since the dashboard is hiding it from me, could you please fetch the exact TXT verification value for my domain from your backend and paste it here so I can add it to the Workspace Domains panel?
Thank you!

I'd try removing the domain, wait for ~10-15 min, then re-add the domain.

This is the second time my domain has failed to provision SSL in 2 months.
The domain was purchased/renewed directly through Railway.
It has been stuck on "Waiting for DNS to propagate" for over 8 hours.
I have already tried the "remove and re-add" method (waiting 15 minutes) and it failed again.
My build is SUCCESSFUL, but your system is not issuing the certificate.
thanks but I need an engineer to manually fix the database record for my domain immediately. If this cannot be resolved within 24 hours, I will be forced to request a transfer-out and a full refund for the domain service.

You need to add a TXT record to your domain.
Additionally, please do not create duplicate threads.

I believe there is a fundamental misunderstanding of your own platform's architecture regarding this ticket.
I purchased yourwaycorp.com natively through Railway. According to your official engineering blog post ("One-Click Domains" - Feb 25, 2026), it is impossible for me to do what you are asking. The article states:
"We don't show any DNS setup instructions for Railway-managed domains since there's nothing to set up."
"Manual DNS record management. You can't add arbitrary DNS records to Railway-owned domains. This is deliberate."
You are instructing me to manually add a TXT record, which your system deliberately prevents me from doing. The domain is stuck on "Waiting for DNS to propagate" because your automatic provisioning workflow has failed on the backend, not because of a missing manual configuration on my end.
Please escalate this ticket immediately to an engineer who can resolve the internal provisioning bug for this Railway-managed domain. Thank you.

You can manage your DNS records from https://railway.com/workspace/domains.
Also, I'm not too sure where you got the fact that users can't add DNS records to Railway domains. (https://docs.railway.com/networking/domains/railway-domains#dns, https://docs.railway.com/networking/domains/railway-domains#faq)

I am reverting my port to 3000, as my deployment works perfectly on your auto-generated domain.
The issue is 100% on Railway's domain provisioning side. My domain yourwaycorp.com (purchased through Railway) has been stuck on "Waiting for DNS" for hours, making my production site inaccessible. This is the second time this has failed.
Please escalate this to an engineer immediately. If the certificate is not provisioned and the domain is not fully active within 24 hours, I will be requesting a full refund and transferring my domain out to another registrar.

What doesn't work? You set your TXT record to your CNAME value...

Thank you for catching that! Since the UI was stuck and acting up earlier, it seems the CNAME routing value was incorrectly saved in the TXT record field.
Could you please provide the correct railway-verify=... string that I actually need to put in that TXT record?
Once you reply with the correct string, I will update the TXT record immediately from the workspace/domains panel so the SSL certificate can finally be issued. Thank you for your help.

When you add a custom domain in the networking settings, it should provide the CNAME and TXT records for you to add.
