Hi,
I accidentally deleted my PostgreSQL database instance that contained critical production data for my project (airy-magic, environment: production).
Project Link: https://railway.com/project/02cf968e-f8d3-4154-a843-5f13eb946995
Details:
- Old Database Connection:
postgresql://postgres:acuTplumZMIdfuunEBuHlVibfVDrWNNj@switchback.proxy.rlwy.net:46106/railway - Project ID:
02cf968e-f8d3-4154-a843-5f13eb946995 - Environment ID:
bce65be8-a367-4c00-9719-4f497a37c30b - Deletion Time: Approximately 2026-04-03 around 12:00-12:30 UTC
- Service Name: The old Postgres instance (now replaced with Postgres-7h4B)
The database contained all my application data and I didn't have backups enabled. I've since created a new empty Postgres instance, but I urgently need to recover the data from the deleted database.
Is it possible to:
- Recover the deleted database instance?
- Access a backup or snapshot of the old database?
- Retrieve the data in any form?
This is critical for my production application. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

When a volume is deleted, it is queued for permanent deletion within 48 hours, and a restoration link is sent via email. Since your deletion occurred on April 3rd, that 48-hour restoration window has passed and the volume data has been permanently deleted. Without backups enabled, there is unfortunately no way to recover the data. Going forward, we recommend enabling scheduled backups on your database volumes.
