I have setup some websites for conducting the pilot for my research study and now that the pilot is complete, why do I keep getting Resource Usage Alerts?
You previously specified a Usage Limit of $10 for your project.
You have now used more than 75% of this limit during the current billing cycle. The current billing cycle ends on 03 Sep 2026. Actually, I am a student and at this time I want to rollback to my free hobby account, as the per month overhead for me is not viable, and re-initiate the billed state upon receiving some funding for my research. I want to check 1) why w/o any use I get the Resource Usage Alerts, if there's a way to reduce the usage as the research pilot is over, please do let me know. 2) What are the steps to revert back to the free a/c state for the immediate time-being?

Your usage alert is triggered because you still have 11 services actively deployed and consuming resources. Deployed services accrue memory, CPU, and disk costs continuously even without traffic. Last cycle, memory alone accounted for $6.62 of your $7.73 invoice. The 75%-of-$10 figure is a running total for your current cycle (ending Sep 3), not a bill yet. To stop it from growing, remove the deployments from every service your pilot no longer needs, or delete those projects entirely.
To return to the free tier, cancel your Hobby plan from your billing page. After the current cycle ends and the subscription is removed, the Free plan option will appear on the Plans page. Note that any usage accrued this cycle will still be invoiced.
You can set up usage alerts, limits, and view your usage breakdown, including per-service costs, by heading to railway.com/workspace/usage.
