Postgres database corrupted WAL - restore from backup needed

My Postgres database crashed and cannot recover due to corrupted Write-Ahead Logs (WAL).

Error: The startup process repeatedly fails with:

PANIC: could not locate a valid checkpoint record at 0/1A371E88

invalid checkpoint record in WAL segment 00000001000000000000001A

Last known good state: 2026-08-10 02:51:54 UTC

Environment: Production

Request: Please restore the Postgres volume from the most recent backup available. I understand this will recover data up to the last clean checkpoint (2026-08-10 02:51:54 UTC). I'd rather not post my project/service/volume IDs publicly - happy to share them privately if needed to locate the resource.

Backups feature is only available on Pro Plan, so there's no backup available to be restored

Thank you. The issue is now resolved, but I feel it’s unfair that an automatic security update corrupted my database and left me with no option to restore it without changing my plan.

At the very least, Railway should ensure that all databases are back online and functioning properly after applying such updates. This was not a good experience.
