Postgres service unreachable — control plane cannot restart it

▎ Project 72d260a1-0bac-488d-93f2-535fb1898a2e, service c8ab7174-1c83-4732-9fd6-2ef60b6daa52 (Postgres, US West, image ghcr.io/railwayapp-templates/postgres-ssl:17).

▎

▎ Since ~20:20 GMT-3 the database stopped responding. Details:

▎ - TCP to interchange.proxy.rlwy.net:34292 connects, but the postmaster never answers the PostgreSQL SSLRequest handshake (verified with a raw socket, 10s timeout, reproducible).

▎ - Every client gets Connection terminated due to connection timeout, including Railway's own Database tab ("Attempting to connect to the database...").

▎ - Metrics show 0 vCPU and 0 B memory for the last 40+ minutes, while the service card still says "Online".

▎ - A redeploy stayed stuck at "Creating containers..." for 5+ minutes with empty deploy logs. I cancelled it.

▎ - After cancelling, Restart fails immediately with "Problem processing request".

▎

▎ The volume postgres-volume appears to be held by a container that no longer reports. Please force-release it and bring the service back. This is a production database.

The project and service you named cannot be reached from the account this thread is tied to, so they cannot be examined or acted on here. That project resolves to a workspace under a different account, which means any troubleshooting or restart needs to happen from the account that owns it. If you have access to that account, the service controls (restart, redeploy) are available from the service's settings there.

I'm having a similar problem, can't establish database connection:

(could not obtain a connection from the pool within 5.000 seconds (waited 5.000 seconds); all pooled connections were in use)
