Postgres unreachable after enabling pg_stat_statements via Database > Stats

Production Postgres (zenith-db) has been unreachable since I clicked

"Enable & Restart" on the Query Statistics / pg_stat_statements panel under

Database > Stats.

The Database > Config tab shows:

  • Deployment Online: OK
  • Required Variables: OK
  • Database Connection: stuck on "Attempting to connect to the database..."

External clients cannot connect either. Over the last several minutes I have

seen, in order:

  • SSL error: unexpected eof while reading
  • Query execution timed out after 30 seconds

So the service reports an active deployment but Postgres is not accepting

connections. My assumption is the restart applied shared_preload_libraries

and the instance is failing to come back up, but I have no visibility into

the Postgres startup logs from the dashboard.

This is a production database serving a live iOS app. Ingestion from an

external provider webhook is currently failing.

Postgres 16.11. Database is ~24 GB. No schema changes were made — the only

action was the Enable & Restart button in the Stats panel.

Are there any errors in the deployment logs? Also try selecting the service, press Cmd/Ctrl + K, and redeploy source image.

No errors in the deployment logs, after a few restarts it was finally able to reconnect. This stemmed from just adding a modification/extension to Postgresql. Is that something that typically happens?
