Postgres Volume Migration

My Postgres service has been unable to deploy for over 30 minutes. After the initial deployment hung indefinitely on the CREATE_CONTAINER step in the europe-west4-drams3a region, I attempted to resolve the issue by switching to the us-east4-eqdc4a region. However, the volume migration to the new region is now failing repeatedly.

Deployment Details:

  • [SERVICE_ID]
  • Service Name: Postgres
  • [VOLUME_ID]
  • Volume Name: postgres-volume
  • Volume Usage: 200MB of 500MB
  • [DEPLOYMENT_ID]
  • Failure Stage: MIGRATE_VOLUMES
  • Error Message: "Volume migration failed."

Timeline:

  • 17:24 UTC: Initial deployment to europe-west4-drams3a started
  • 17:54 UTC: Deployment still stuck on CREATE_CONTAINER after 30 minutes
  • 17:35-17:40 UTC: Three consecutive deployments failed during volume migration to us-east4-eqdc4a

Critical Note: This database contains production data that must be preserved. I have not attempted further deployments to avoid risking data corruption.

Thanks, Adam
