Is it possible to set limits so it'd impossible for it go go over that

respdev

Like resource limits

respdev
FREEOP

Also I'm wondering how much this would cost since it runs 24/7

  1. I think the minimum limits you can set are 0.5 vcpu and 500mb of memory.
  2. there is a pricing calculator here -

it would very likely cost under 5$/mo, which would result in you only paying the 5$ subscription fee, no more.

this is a guess, though. using the pricing calculator will get you more concrete answers

It shows the CPU as 0 so far.

Yeah but what if I got ddosed?

You have no way I can limit my resources so low.

I use less than 0.1 cpu

You must take proper precautions to prevent yourself from getting ddosed as well. Putting your app through Cloudflare is a good start

How much would the described resources cost in a month of usage

Please use the pricing calculator for yourself.

Why don't hard limits and resource usage have options to chose smaller values?

respdev

This seems like not the place to deploy small apps then.

it definitely is, simply put Cloudflare in front

Tunnel?

no? just manage your domain through Cloudflare and leave the orange cloud enabled

respdev

Is their any way to setup a firewall for requests?

please see our previous messages, Cloudflare is the answer

respdev
FREEOP

I'm not using a domain though.

then how would your app get ddos'd

respdev
FREEOP

I have the site accessible through one of your subdomains.

respdev
FREEOP

That's how I access my API since I don't need a domain for this project

then you would want to use Cloudflare's with a custom domain

respdev
FREEOP

Since my API is a roblox ranking api isn't the risk slim since only my games have the domain. That essentially means as long as I watch it, it doesn't really matter correct?

if it's a public domain then there is always a slim chance it gets ddos'd, we do not offer DDoS protection, so if that's a concern then you would want to use Cloudflare
