Hi Railway Team,
We recently experienced an unexpected reset of our production database, resulting in a total data loss.
Could you urgently confirm if there might be any internal snapshots, logs, or disaster-recovery options available on your side to help restore this database?
This issue is critically affecting us, so your prompt assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks very much,
Lex

Hi Lex,
Really sorry to hear about the unexpected reset of your production database. Did you have any backups set up on Railway? If so, you should be able to restore them from the service settings panel under the Backups tab.
If you haven't set up scheduled backups, I'm afraid we don't have other internal snapshots or automatic disaster recovery options available by default.
For logs, you can view any logs that might provide insights into what happened by using the Log Explorer. Unsure if it will help with the data recovery specifically but might help diagnose the issue further or understanding any anomalies that occurred prior to the reset.
Best regards,
Chandrika

Appreciate the quick reply!
I understand! is there perhaps an internal backup or snapshot available -possibly not meant for users... maybe internal backups your engineering team could access? We'd be willing to compensate for the extra effort if there's any possibility of extracting or restoring our PostgreSQL database.
Please let me know if there's anything we can arrange. Otherwise - understand.
Thanks again!
Lex

Of course, and I'm sorry but we're unable to recover the data on our end either. Really sorry again that you lost your data, please let us know if you have any feedback on making any of the experience better!
