Railway's price prediction can't tell the future, it can only take past usage data and extrapolate it to get a rough idea of what your final cost will be. If your app's usage fluctuates often then naturally the final cost extrapolation will fluctuate too, making it more difficult for Railway to give you an idea of what your final cost will be.

Don't worry though, it gets more accurate over time since it doesn't have to predict as far into the future and since it'll have more data to work with.

I understand that the future can't be predicted, but the current cost shouldn't be a mystery, and from what I understand, the current cost can only go up with time, and not down. My current cost keeps fluctuating up and down. It was higher about 3-4 days ago, but since yesterday, it keeps fluctuating between 9 and 12USD, even if I just switch between billing periods it changes to something new.

Actually Fragly, this one is on us-

We upgraded our metrics service and users are reporting stats going up by -2/+2 USD. The issue is that during collection, some data was malformed, and attempts to clean it vs. what's in cache is different.

We are working on a fix, I have attached a ticket and we will let you and others know about the progress in the meantime. In the meantime, I have credited you for the difference of margin with $5 of credit.

Oh my bad, I misread your message and thought you said the usage estimate was fluctuating, not your current usage. Sorry about that!
