Public Domain Routing Failure - Port Reversion Bug, Public Endpoint Unreachable Despite Passing Health Checks

I have been working on an issue for several hours, and between my ai agents and yours we still haven't been able to figure this out.

Your agent suggested this needs Railway support or a deeper infrastructure investigation.

    • Service: MFL-GM-Consol
    • Issue: Public domain returns "Application failed to respond" but internal health check passes
    • Port keeps reverting to 8001 despite Dockerfile having EXPOSE 8080
    • App runs cleanly on 8080 (confirmed in logs)

Issue resolved.

Summary:

  • Root cause: Domain port was 8001, app was on 8080
  • Why it kept reverting: Tool-based changes weren't sticking; manual UI change worked
  • Solution: Changed port to 8080 manually in Railway dashboard, redeployed
  • Status: Working

You can cancel the Railway support ticket if you want. The issue is fixed.

Glad you got it sorted! The domain target port mismatch was indeed the issue. Thanks for sharing the resolution.
