railway.com and Railway-hosted apps timeout from my home IP without VPN

Hello Railway team,

I’m unable to access railway.com and Railway-hosted apps from my home IP without VPN. The pages keep loading forever and eventually time out.

Everything works normally through VPN.

Tested:

railway.com — hangs / timeout

Railway-hosted apps — hang / timeout

VPN — works

Router reboot — did not fix it

Different Chrome/Google profile through VPN — works

Could you please check whether this IP or IP range is being blocked/challenged by your edge/security provider, or whether there are routing issues to your edge?

status.railway.com appears reachable, but railway.com does not load without VPN.

Thank you.

Having looked into this, the issue appears to be in your application code or configuration rather than the Railway platform itself, which puts it outside what Railway support can resolve directly.

This is exactly the kind of problem the Railway community is good at, so we'd like to open your thread as a community bounty. Railway pays a bounty to the community member who solves it, and threads like this usually get picked up quickly.

Opening it makes this entire thread public, including everything already posted. Nothing becomes public until you decide. Use the buttons below.

  • Open to the community - Before you click, take a moment to edit or remove anything you'd rather not share. The thread becomes publicly visible right away.
  • Keep it private and close the thread - Nothing becomes public. The thread closes, since this isn't something Railway support can take further.

Update with additional diagnostics: I cannot share my static IP publicly, but I can provide it privately to Railway staff if needed. This does not look like an application code or configuration issue, because the problem affects railway.com / app.railway.com itself from my static IP, not only my deployed app. From my static home IP: railway.com resolves correctly to 69.46.46.46;

Test-NetConnection railway-Port443 returns TcpTestSucceeded True; curl.exe -I -m 15 https://railway.com

times out with0 bytes received. The same dashboard and apps work normally via VPN or mobile internet. This looks like an IP-specific WAF/CDN/routing rate limit or challenge issue. Could a Railway staff member please escalate this to a private support review or open a private channel so I can provide my static IP safely?

This would be a firewall on your end, likely ISP-related. Unfortunately, we cannot help with that scenario.

Try change your DNS to 1.1.1.1 without VPN

And if you have users and seeing the same issue for hosted app on Railway, You need a cheap domain and proxy it through Cloudflare
