Railway creating needless issues

I open my account this morning to learn my e-commerce store, built by myself, was inactive due railway stating a previously successful deployment "failed." I own the code I wrote, stored in my repo, so I attempted to redeploy the project. I am asked "Deploy this commit from an external contributor?" which forces me to accept or skip. I have tried both and the project fails to deploy. The project is stored in my repo with the correct address within Railway. Again, this project was 100% functional the last time I touched it. What is this nonsense from Railway? I am a paying customer who was charged for a fully functional e-commerce store, that I built from scratch, for an inactive application for no logical or rational reason.

Hi there - could you please clarify if you are asking to cancel your subscription, or if you'd like help debugging the issue in your app?

Hello,

I might need to cancel my subscription. The issue is not my application. My application was fully functional and completely untouched for weeks. I login into Railway and all the problems begin! I own the repository that is being accessed for my application. Railway consistently forces me to "Deploy this commit from an external contributor?" I select yes and I am prompted: "Repository not found, ensure someone from the team has access to it." The repository is unchanged from when the application was fully functional. No one has altered the code or settings within Railway. I not only have access to the repository, I have access to it.

Is Railway attempting to force me to pay more per month to access my projects? That seems to be the clear message from every single error being produced. It directs me to spend an extra $20 on my account despite no need and no explanation why you're restricting my applications. I have an e-commerce store down for no logical or rational reason. Is someone from Railway going to step it to address the nonsensical stress you're creating for me?

Hi Joe, looks like you have a few different issues. Let's address these independently.

We're currently experiencing an incident where new deployments are taking longer than expected.

https://status.railway.com/cmbzb4dqc001yue4pw9cq9qnk

You can always see the status of incidents at https://status.railway.com

Where are you seeing that Railway is forcing you to pay more money per month? Can you share a screenshot of what you're seeing?

> I am asked "Deploy this commit from an external contributor?" which forces me to accept or skip.

This means that your railway account isn't associated as a committer on the project you have linked, which is why it's asking for you to approve it. Have you added joseph.lynch.dr@gmail.com to your emails on GitHub?

> Project fails to deploy

```
Looks like it's not connecting to your database properly. This doesn't appear to be a platform issue, but rather an issue with how your application is configured.
I think if you fix your database connection issue that should solve that problem as well.
Hello,
My account settings, here and on GitHub, are entirely UNCHANGED since this project was 100% functional. My Railway account is absolutely associated with this project. I CREATED THE PROJECT! There is no one else involved. Again, this is where Railway is creating problems out of thin air. This issue is 100% RAILWAY. You have provided no explanation to support how this is going to be resolved. You have shared false information that directly contradicts the reality.
Do I need to cancel my railway account and move to your competitor? This is an absolute waste of my energy and time. Fix the mistake created on your end and stop stressing me out! I need my application to be 100% functional as it was the last time I checked into railway.
I'm going to recreate the project given this experience. PLEASE CONFIRM. Will Railway perform similar changes to my account/ the services I am paying for again in the future? I need to be 100% clear on this. You have sacrificed my e-commerce site at a very crucial time for the business. It's completely unacceptable.
Is anyone going to clean up this mess or not? This is a fucking horrible experience. Thanks for bringing your shit into my Monday for no reason. This is entirely 100% Railway's responsibility to resolve. THERE IS NO ONE ELSE ACCESSING MY ACCOUNT! Give me my fucking application back while I transition to another service. Jeepers
Hi Joe,
As above, I'll need a few pieces of information to proceed:
1. Where are you seeing that Railway is forcing you to pay more money per month? Can you share a screenshot of what you're seeing?
> I am asked "Deploy this commit from an external contributor?" which forces me to accept or skip.
2. This means that your railway account isn't associated as a committer on the project you have linked, which is why it's asking for you to approve it. Have you added joseph.lynch.dr@gmail.com to your emails on GitHub?
> Project fails to deploy
```
Unexpected error checking if database is seeded: Error: Connection terminated unexpectedly

at Connection.<anonymous> (/app/node_modules/.pnpm/pg@8.13.1/node_modules/pg/lib/client.js:131:73)

at Object.onceWrapper (node:events:632:28)

at Connection.emit (node:events:518:28)

at Socket.<anonymous> (/app/node_modules/.pnpm/pg@8.13.1/node_modules/pg/lib/connection.js:62:12)

at Socket.emit (node:events:518:28)

at TCP.<anonymous> (node:net:343:12)
```
3. Looks like it's not connecting to your database properly. This doesn't appear to be a platform issue, but rather an issue with how your application is configured. I think if you fix your database connection issue that should solve that problem as well.
Understand that you're upset, but I think the best path forward is to practice functional decomposition and work through each of these problems independently.
Best,
Railway Support
I'm suddenly having the same issue. I'm a solo dev with no other collaborators on Github or Railway. Suddenly my latest deployment is Pending with the message "[My name] isn't on the Railway team, so their commit needs approval. Invite them to bypass this requirement." This is blocking my deployment, please advise!
Hey Joey. Railway founder here. Sorry you had a bad experience! Unfortunately, we can't have you yelling at our staff.
The repo you are deploying is from rpuls/medusajs-2.0. Which is an external repo. It's not a repo you own, because it's not part of your GitHub account.
As for the upgrade prompt, were likely seeing the prompt for high traffic on the Hobby plan. This is normal; it means during high traffic period, we may prioritize people with businesses. If you are a business, you should be on the Pro plan, or you should wait to deploy.
Do I need to cancel my railway account and move to your competitor?
I've gone ahead and refunded all your invoices. You can keep your stuff here if you'd like, but you cannot be rude to our staff. We're happy to help you; we're not trying to cause issues. But we're also humans on the other side of the screen.
Best,
Jake Cooper
Founder @ Railway
I've attached a ticket for the confusion on the "Deploy from External contributor" I agree it could be more clear
Hi generale2022, I'm looking into this issue and unable to reproduce. Can you please open another thread with a link to the deployment/project that you are seeing needs approval when it shouldn't
