is it possible to get an A type with the IP of the server instead?

squarespace likely doesn't support root level domain names then
I'd recommend using cloudflare as a DNS server instead
you can do that by going to cloudflare, signing up, adding your website and following the prompts

once that's done you can add the CNAME on @ on Cloudflare and use it on Railway
alternatively, you could just use a subdomain, like www.example.com if you don't want to do allat

thanks for your help bro 🙏

yea you'll need to actually change your nameserver to cloudflare
what you're basically doing is telling traffic that if they want information about your domain, they should look for it in this server (which you'll want to set as cloudflare's server), then cloudflare's server will tell traffic to find your website at the railway domain that you were given, which itself well internally route your traffic to your container
