Railway is becoming unusable - so unreliable

Railway team, you need to get on top of this.

Slow/hanging deploys, database downtime, dashboards not working.

This isn't something we should be dealing with on a weekly basis. Once a year...perhaps. But this is the third or fourth time we have had a major issue in the past couple of months.

We are only staying at the moment because it's such a pain to move everything to another provider, but if this keeps happening we will unfortunately have to switch.

I'm already doing this... You can try using Gemini Deep Search to quickly find a stable alternative provider.

Second this. Good incident management isn't enough for an infrastructure provider. This literally cannot happen. Do you have failover automations, network replication etc. in place? Please provide an in-depth incident report and let us know why this won't happen in the future again.

With necessary N8N 2.0 migration, this might be a good time to consider other options. Unfortunately.

I've had such a good experince in the first 6 months of using railway in the beginning of the year, but the recent outages and unstable deployments have me reconsidering my choices. We just put our product on the market and got our first paid subscribers and now I need to explain to them that our provider is having issues... not the time of my life.

100% - we need full transparency here or we will lose trust

My favorite part is the "Experiencing minor outage" title on the status page 🫠

Does anyone have a better alternative?

$30 USD per month would also be acceptable.

Hey all, we're going to share a full post-mortem of this incident once the root cause has been fixed. The issue has been mitigated, but the fix is still a work in progress hence the lack of updates from our end. Apologies for the silence here - we've been heads down on the fix and will post updates as soon as we have them.

The post-mortem will be published on blog.railway.com and this incident's timeline on https://status.railway.com/cmj89j6z2000qodpsfs4nc2gb.

To address some of the individual responses here:

Yes, agreed. We'll share a post-mortem within the next 24 hours.

We're really sorry for this :-(

Transparency is the only way we operate. I guarantee you'll have full details in the post-mortem (some recent examples of our incident reports: https://blog.railway.com/p/incident-report-december-8-2025, https://blog.railway.com/p/incident-report-november-25-2025).

My favorite part is the "Experiencing minor outage" title on the status page 🫠

Uhh, can you share where you saw this? https://status.railway.com/cmj89j6z2000qodpsfs4nc2gb says "Major Outage" for me

---

To be extremely clear, the downtime is 100% unacceptable from our end. We'll work harder to earn your trust back after this incident. I'm glad y'all reached out and once again, I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

Hi all, we've published an incident report for December 16, 2025: https://blog.railway.com/p/incident-report-december-16-2025

Once again, we're deeply sorry for the impact this caused. We're actively working to eliminate the class of issues that contributed to this incident and to make the platform more resilient.

Best,

The Railway Team

The latency between services is completely unreliable and my requests for support have largely been ignored. I think these guys made a mistake when they tried to take on the infrastructure themselves. They should have stayed with Google or moved to Amazon.
