Done it , now I see application is very slow
Though both backend servive and DB are now in california metal, the slowness is like it behaves as if both are in different regions

Here I see option of upgrade to metal edge instead of downgrade

I didnt see downgrade option

Is it that I need to upgrade if its metal region?

In this case, you don't have to do anything. My initial assumption was that it could be related to metal edge, however this has proven to not be it as per your screenshot. As for the latency issue, please make sure to use private networking whenever possible, especially when both services are within the same project, this ensures the lowest latency possible and will save you egress fees.

when the region is all oregon it works smoothly

when region is all metal california , there is slowness

This happens very often

Initailly when all were in oregon , no issues

But sometimes railway auto triggred deployment to california metal for backend and then it starts cauing issue for some of the apis

It happens for som eof the apis

It takes time to get response and then gives 504

That time , backend was in California metal and db in oregon and hence gave 504

Now both are in california metal , still there is 504

When both are in oregon , no issue of 504

But issue is railway auto triggers deployment to Metal frequently
Can this be stopped by railway as every time I have to manually again change to oregon

I expect the region dropdown always sticks to oregon unless I change it manually

From what I know, there is no option for an user to opt out of it. The behaviors you have experienced today are definitely not intended by any means.

Hey , I need resolution for this immediately , this is impacting us in $$$ revenue and facing client escalation as many users are facing issue because of this

We dont want railway to change the region without our consent in settings

If its taking time to check the issue, implement a feature that will help users to turn off this railway auto region change to metal
