I am trying to connect a domain purchased through Railway to Proton Mail and expected to add its verification TXT record in Railway's DNS settings. Saving the record fails, and the domain page shows a registrar connection warning and no assigned nameservers. At the last observed check, this blocked email setup and the domain did not resolve through public DNS. Please check the domain's registration and DNS provisioning status and advise how to restore working DNS and save the verification record.
Resource and timing
Affected resource: a Railway-purchased domain; its name is intentionally omitted and can be supplied privately.
Screenshots captured October 14, 2026, around 23:17–23:19, Asia/Bangkok (UTC+7).
Last public DNS observation: October 14, 2026, at 23:20, Asia/Bangkok (UTC+7).
No successful DNS save or resolution is established by the available evidence.
Evidence and reproduction
In the domain's DNS Records form, select TXT, enter @ as the name, paste Proton's verification value, set TTL to 300, and click Add Record. The screenshots show these settings and this save error:
Failed to save DNS record
Problem processing request
The domain page also shows these messages (domain name redacted from the first):
Couldn't reach the registrar to check [domain omitted]. Reload to try again.
No nameservers are assigned. DNS for this domain will not resolve until you set them.
The assistant queried NS records through Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 and Google's 8.8.8.8. Both returned status: NXDOMAIN with no answer records at 23:20 UTC+7. Railway's status page reported Fully Operational during troubleshooting; this does not exclude an isolated domain issue.
Refreshing and retrying were suggested, but their results were not confirmed. No nameserver change or successful DNS update was performed by the assistant.
Why support is needed
The AI assistant first recommended contacting Railway after observing the registrar warning, missing nameservers, failed save, and public DNS results. A registration, DNS provisioning, or registrar integration problem remains a hypothesis, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Please determine the domain's actual state and the recovery steps. This request does not authorize deletion or a switch to external nameservers.

Your original domain registration failed at the registrar, but Railway incorrectly showed it as active. We've refunded your $9 payment and cleared the old purchase so you can try again. Sorry for the confusion and the trouble with your email setup.
