Can you guys log in normally? I'm having issues. This message Failed to fetch was displayed in the form after writing the code I received to log-in.

got my site back up on another server, phew.. luckily it was de-coupled with backend on another cloud provider.. clients websites are still down though.. 🙁
didnt check once to be honest but what i check is the bill every month haha
Once again, why was there no email, notification, anything when this happened? I found out from Twitter an hour after my site has been down - I have incident emails turned on in my account.
My bet is that the incident also affected the email sending workers, https://status.railway.com/ is also acting funky because of the incident.
On my side, no twitter, no email, 1 user asking in the general chat and 10 tickets opened ahah

would i be loosing my databases ?
No, user data is not affected

im not having them in metal servers. is that okey? hope you have a backup atleast to restore.

No updates from GCP?
Day is starting in Singapore, customer complaints keep coming
4 days ago
deleting the memes/imgs let's keep this thread on topic
4 days ago
How do you get blocked from GCP with millions of users on it?
apologies
No, GCP wrongfully auto-banned Railway's account causing the outage as parts of Railway's infrastructure (particularly their network layer) relies on GCP
4 days ago
only thing I can think of
There must be more to the story. kinda crazy it happens on the day of Google I/O. Maybe they are cleaning house
4 days ago
Unfortunately all we know at the moment, hopefully more is uncovered over time
4 days ago
yeah while 3 million customers are down...
They just made an update:
Identified
We are continuing to work on restoring access to our workloads on Google Cloud. In parallel, our infrastructure team is evaluating alternative paths to bring affected services back online. We do not have an ETA at this time and will continue posting updates as we have them.
I haven't received any updates since my last update that isn't on the incidents page unfortunately
4 days ago
Should we be worried about our data? I wouldnt expect restoring access shouldnt take more then 4 hours...
Don't worry, data wasn't impacted
The only impact is GCP hosted components of Railway's infrastructure (like their network layer), data is hosted on Railway's datacenters and or tigris (for buckets)
do you work for Railway?
no ETA, and if by official person you mean Railway employees, Brody is around
4 days ago
I don't, I just help around
@Fragly You don't work for Railway? You helped me a handful of times, I assumed you did.
yea I don't, glad to hear I've been helpful to you 🙂
4 days ago
yes, there is an ongoing incident, you can track in #🚨|incidents

Some users are reporting partial recovery
4 days ago
oh wow I am back!
but don't consider it recovered until recovery is announced
-# saying this out of caution, I've seen users in the past assume recovery and report recovery to their users only for the recovery having been temporary
I am operational! Thank you, Railway. I appreciate your efforts and hope you continue to improve and add redundancy as you grow.
sounds like we had some bad actors possibly reason why GCP banned railway.....

I'm able to log back in, but still missing custom domains and live availability for services. A step in the right direction though

Everything is back up! thanks team Railway
It looks like a Point In Time recovery may have happened, because a ton of my services are showing deployments from 3 weeks ago
4 days ago
The tail end of some services and infrastructure are still coming back online.
Most of my databases are showing regular timed backups, but this is my concern as well. Hopefully we aren't missing a BUNCH of data from today
anyone else getting this

On my side, the dashboard is displaying service online, but the service is not reatchable ...
I was having that issue as well, but services are slowly starting to come up for me and very thankful that they seem to have mostly current data.

Still can not work
Some services are up for me but not all. Tried redeploying and nothing.

Anyone who can help us? We are on a very important project, just showing our site to investors.

Some of Railway's services still need to recovery
4 days ago
Celebrated too early, i've just noticed that not every app is up. Getting "Application failed to respond" errors
4 days ago
I lost money because of this error, so disappointed about this service
4 days ago
Latest status?
To say I'm frustrated to find out that we may be at the whims of a third party for service availability is an understatement. When I signed up for this, it wasn't to sign up for Google Cloud Platform, I could have done that myself. With my Railway costs increasing, i was going to upgrade to Pro this next cycle. Now I am sitting here thinking if I can truly depend on Railway for reliability when it turns out this is a cloud ontop of a cloud, the exact same thing Railway's own blogs have said NOT to do.
THey are making progress
My app still not reachable but now I can access the dashboard, can see logs, metrics of services etc..

Railway's working on restoring new deployments for enterprise, most metal services should be working now and GCP services are still being brought back online
During those 4 hours of downtime, I lost about ~$1800... I'm a bit pissed off....

One of my website is up, but other website is still down, anyone faced same issue?
someone else ?

I am disappointed with Railway and want to switch to Render.
are we getting credit for this?
The incident is still ongoing, don't expect full restoration yet
it's alive
Attachments
Any idea on how the recovery is being scheduled?
I have some minor apps back up but some larger ones still down.
Makes sense, incident is still ongoing
Incident still isn't fully resolved, please be patient
This must be the most stressful day of the year at Railway HQ. Sending good vibes to the team.
I understand it's hard, but will there be compensation? For example, +1 day to Hobby or Pro Plan
4 days ago
Systems are recovered but backlog is getting hammered with builds, enterprise are prioritised and yours will eventually go through after that.
Well yeah.. obviously eventually. Why tweet something like that implying everything is restored in the middle of the incident?
The service has started, but deployment is failing.
Internal connections to DB via proxy still down on many services. Any ETA?
No ETA, unfortunately
I'm still getting 502 errors when trying to load one of my sites (three others are working fine). Is this still part of the incident or should I consider this something different?
It's most likely part of the incident, the incident is still ongoing
4 days ago
do we have an eta on when deployments will pick back up?
no ETA unfortunately

do we have an eta on when deployments will pick back up?
https://backboard.railway.com/graphql/internal?q=deploymentRedeploy is just throwing a 504
4 days ago
to be clear, Railway is dependant on GCP's recovery speed for this incident, that's why there's no ETA
4 days ago
All my non DB deployments are fine now. Not really an issue for me until overnight, when database operations occur.
yeah, we need to hotfix asap due to another problem as well so deployments being down with no ETA is a massive problem for us
4 days ago
why are my db back ups showing as 3 weeks ago. are we losing our data from today? This is sooo bad. Started a large project today and meeting the client again in the am. Losing today's data is literally going to kill this entire job with a national acct
4 days ago
Any updates on deployments?
Still no updates other than the team is working on it
4 days ago
A lot of services has been restored, there are a remaining few still offline though
4 days ago
mine is still offline :(
That's a mess... on my side API services are up, email service is down!
I am currently losing tone of users registrations because of this outage and thousand of dollars of revenu... I am already lose ~$2000 approx during this 5h outage...
The fact that services are still down for more than 5 hours is quite the feet... I hope this is a lesson learned. Something similar to this cannot happen again.
It says my services are green but my domain still says bad host - please help. Our production site has been down for 6 hours.
Some services are still offline unfortunately, nothing we can do but wait
3 days ago
Services on GCP vs on Metal.
DBs may have been on GCP then.
Brody, do you know what caused the GCP ban on railway? Are there any clues?
Will there be a post mortem? Curious about what you guys have learned and the next steps moving forward so this type of thing doesn't happen again
3 days ago
Railway posted a mini post mortem here: https://station.railway.com/community/what-we-know-so-far-may-19th-2026-86354cdd
If I have a bot on Discord that I can deploy to Railway, can I continue?

https://blog.railway.com/p/incident-report-may-19-2026-gcp-account-outage
8 hours of downtime. No email notification. No ETA. Real revenue lost.
$100M raised at the start of 2026, and an automatic GCP ban brings the entire platform to its knees with no plan B.
Your own post-mortem confirms it: the control plane was entirely hosted on GCP, with no fallback. This wasn't bad luck, it was a known architectural risk that wasn't addressed in time.
With so many paying customers on your platform, this level of fragility is not a technical accident, it's a sign of misplaced priorities.
We are paying customers, not beta testers. When do we get a real explanation?
For many of us, this marks a definitive breaking point in our trust with Railway. And that truly saddens us, because we have been your biggest fans from the very beginning.

Status page shows everything is operational even though there are still some issues:
- The usage page is not loading.
- I can't link Discord to my account. I'm getting a problem completing OAuth login message. in the account settings, I can see that the Discord is linked but nothing is updated on Discord itself.

The post-mortem is a literal joke! We came to Railway to escape the big guys (GCP/AWS) but it turns out Railway is just a fancy UI for GCP...

Railway is not a GCP wrapper, your workload runs on their own servers.
Railway used GCP for their own API and network plane to avoid a circular dependency issue and according to the post mortem, they won’t be using GCP anymore.

The outage yesterday appears to have brought down every single Railway customer and for a non-trivial amount of time. It is very worrying and now I am finding myself researching alternatives. This is incredibly bad, and a lot of trust has been lost. I do not know what is going on with Google, or why they would suddenly ban Railway's account, but in any case, I would appreciate some sort of compensation or discount on our bill this cycle. (It also appears that there is still fall out from this outage, and is technically not even fully resolved.)
