Recover PostgreSQL data from volume after trial expired

Hello,

My Railway trial has expired and my services are now offline. I need to recover important PostgreSQL data from an existing volume before the data retention period expires.

Project: wholesome-heart

Environment: production

PostgreSQL service: Postgres-6mab

Volume: postgres-volume-ecw2

Volume status: Ready

Storage used: 118 MB / 500 MB

The PostgreSQL service currently has no active deployment.

When I run railway volume browse and select the volume, I receive:

Service Postgres-6mab has no active deployment in environment production. Deploy or restart the service before using file commands.

I also tried redeploying the service, but received:

No deployment found for service

My goal is only to recover/export the existing PostgreSQL database safely, preferably using pg_dump, without deleting or overwriting the existing volume.

My available payment card is a prepaid Visa, which Railway does not accept for the Hobby subscription.

Is there a supported way to temporarily access or restore this PostgreSQL service/volume so I can export the database?

I do not want to recreate or overwrite the existing volume because it contains the data I need to recover.

Thank you.

Your volume data is intact (~118 MB on a READY volume), but redeploying the PostgreSQL service requires an active plan, and subscribing to Hobby ($5/month) from the billing page is the path forward. Unfortunately, we don't support prepaid cards. A bank-issued credit or debit card is required, and there is no alternative payment method on self-serve plans.

Sorry we're unable to help you out further here.

Thank you. I still need help recovering my data.

I understand that an active Hobby plan is normally required. However, I am not asking to continue hosting or use Railway services without payment. I only need one-time access to export my existing PostgreSQL database from the intact READY volume.

Since my only available Visa card is prepaid and Railway does not accept it, I currently have no supported way to activate the service.

Could a Railway team member please advise whether there is any one-time recovery option, temporary access, or assisted export of the PostgreSQL data from the existing volume?

The data is important, and I would like to recover it before the volume retention period expires.

If this requires escalation to a Railway staff member, please escalate the request.

Thank you.

We're not able to grant one-time or temporary access to services on inactive accounts, and we don't perform database exports on a user's behalf. Your volume data is still intact, and the path to recovering it is subscribing to the Hobby plan with a bank-issued credit or debit card at your billing page, then running pg_dump yourself.
