URGENT: Recovery of Deleted Database
Project: Mega 12
Environment: production
Service: mega12-sistema
Incident Date: 2026-09-16
My SQLite database (mega12.db) located at /app/backend/data/ was
automatically deleted. I have backup scripts configured that
run daily at 18:00 UTC.
I need you to:
Check for persistent volume snapshots
Recover the file from the previous backup (2026-09-16)
Restore the production data
Expected file: /app/backend/data/backups/mega12-2026-09-15.db
or any snapshot prior to 2026-09-16
Thank you—this is URGENT!

Your volume at /app/backend/data/ is still attached and holding about 61 MB of data, so the volume itself was not deleted. Our databases are unmanaged, so automatic snapshots, WAL recovery, and PITR aren't available to restore your data unless you've enabled them on the service. Volume backups and point-in-time recovery are both native Railway features on Pro. We don't recover data lost to user-initiated actions. Going forward, enable volume backups on your stateful services so you can self-restore if this happens again.

How do I recover this 61MB file?

Your volume still has ~61 MB of data at /app/backend/data/. You can inspect and download those files using the Railway CLI: run railway volume browse / to open an interactive file browser, or railway volume files list / to list what is there. If your backup file exists, you can pull it locally with railway volume files download /backups/mega12-2026-09-15.db ./mega12-2026-09-15.db.
